As part of the Fall Conference this year, CCSAA and Pineland Farms will be hosting a free Grooming Workshop at 1pm on Wednesday, November 9. The workshop is open to all members and non-members and is meant to be an interactive discussion.
Grooming Workshop Details
Wednesday
1pm | Welcome and introductions |
1:15pm – 2pm | Tricks of the trade: Equipment modifications, and techniques we have found that work. |
2pm – 2:30pm | Grooming Times: When to start, how we adapt to changing conditions, how we handle storms that switch to rain. |
2:30pm – 3pm | Internal Communications: How we communicate between the groomers and the Outdoor Center Staff. Who writes the grooming report and what we often include within the report. |
3pm – 4pm | External Communications: How we convey the trail reports and conditions to the consumer. When and how often we update the conditions page on our website. How we use social media to get information out to the skiers, snowshoers, and fat bikers. |
4pm – 5pm | Equipment Expose: We will have our equipment on display along with other ski areas who are willing to demonstrate their equipment as well. We will talk about and show the modifications we will have talked about in the tricks of the trade portion of the workshop. |
The Grooming Workshop is a free evnt, but we ask that you register so we can make nametags and prepare for the number of attendees.
